Overview
During the Physics (research placement) programme at University of Sussex you’ll join our experts and immerse yourself in world-class research. From exploring the smallest particles, to observing the origins and evolution of our universe, and to unravelling our universe’s mysteries such as the nature of dark matter, quantum gravity and quantum effects in black holes, you’ll have the opportunity to work on any of our areas of expertise. In your integrated Masters year, you’ll also develop advanced physical skills through working further with one of the expert research groups in our Department.

General requirements
- 36 points overall from the full IB Diploma
- Higher Levels must include Mathematics and Physics with a grade of 6.
- For entry, either Mathematics: Analysis and Approaches or Mathematics: Applications and Interpretation at Higher Level will be accepted
- Overall result of at least 83% (European Baccalaureate)
- Evidence of existing academic ability in Mathematics is essential (normally with a final grade of at least 8.5) and Higher level Physics
