Overview
Biology at University of Sussex sets you up to understand new discoveries. You’ll develop critical thinking, scientific teamwork and technical communication skills, alongside a solid grounding in biology. The degree is flexible, and it allows you to choose modules that fit broader interests and career aspirations. You can also choose to focus on areas such as cell and molecular biology or evolution and whole organism biology, and explore aspects of neuroscience and behaviour.

General requirements
- A-level: AAB
- Subjects: Higher Levels must include at least one from Biology, Chemistry or Physics, with a grade of 5.
- Extended Project Qualification: We take the EPQ into account when considering your application and it can be useful in the summer when your results are released if you have narrowly missed the conditions of your offer.
- International Baccalaureate: 34 points overall from the full IB Diploma;
- European Baccalaureate: Overall result of at least 80%.
- Evidence of academic studies to a high level in science subjects with good results is essential (at least a score of 8). Also you will need to have a good ability in mathematics.
