Overview

Intensive, highly practical and industry focused, the Foundation Acting (Stage and Screen) course at The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) enables you to develop your individuality and authenticity as an actor. It will equip you with essential storytelling and stylistic skills as you create a portfolio of contemporary, classical and digital material that is uniquely suited to you, helping you to stand out from the crowd. The course culminates in a performance project where you bring together all you have learnt.

Rehearsal Rooms

LIPA’s spacious rehearsal rooms are predominantly used for workshop-style teaching and as rehearsal spaces in the lead up to performances. Some of these have their own sound and lighting facilities.

64 UCAS tariff points required from level 3 qualifications

For example:

Two A Levels at grade C or above
BTEC Extended Diploma: MPP
BTEC Diploma: MM
T level: P (D or E)
International Baccalaureate Diploma: Pass including 64 points from Higher Level subjects

You also need 5 GCSEs grade 4/C or above including English and Maths or Level 2 equivalents.

Mature applicants (aged 21+): if you do not hold the qualifications listed but have relevant work experience, you are welcome to apply. Your application will be considered on an individual basis.

You need to meet our English language requirement - a minimum of IELTS 5.5 for each of the 4 individual components (Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening). We also accept other English language examination equivalents.
