Program Aims
The Thai as a Foreign Language program at Chiang Mai University aims to produce graduates who have Thai language skills and can demonstrate an ability to use Thai language effectively and appropriately. We provide students with the integrated knowledge in communications and interpersonal skills. These skills can be applied to promote self-development for careers focusing on quality, morality and ethics. The graduates learn the value of Thai language, society and culture, and are eager to serve as social and cultural representatives of Thailand.

General requirements
- Graduated from or studying in M.6 in Thailand secondary education system or
- Graduated from an international school in Thailand or
- Graduated from an overseas institution/have certificated in the list of secondary education equivalency system
- A scanned copy of the high school graduation certificate for Mattayom Suksa 6, or Grade 12 or equivalent, Thai or English, or the foreign equivalent and a certificate of current student status (if studying).
- A scanned copy of the official high school transcript, Thai or English, or the foreign equivalent (if not in Thai or English, please submit the original document with an official English translation).
- An official certificate of English language proficiency (if available).
- For non-Thai citizens: a scanned copy of passport.
- One 2x2 inch-photo in school uniform or in formal dress taken within the last 6 months (in jpg format).
