About the program

The English Language Teaching program at Sakarya University aims to train English language teachers who are conscious of the importance of the concept of interdisciplinarity; who are equipped with the knowledge required by the era; who successfully integrated their area of expertise with the teaching profession knowledge; who can think critically; who are able to produce alternatives by working independently and/or collaboratively with a solution-oriented approach to problems; who have researcher identitites; who internalized lifelong learning skills.

Explains the necessary theoretical, methodological and factual knowledge about foreign language (English) education and teaching profession and uses them to produce solution(s) to educational problems.
Uses language skills (reading, speaking, writing, listening skills) at a level that can communicate effectively by analyzing written and oral texts produced in foreign language (English) and mother tongue (Turkish) with a critical approach.
As a foreign language teacher, knows the legislation concerning the duties, rights and responsibilities and behaves in compliance with the legislation.

Uses the scientific methods and technologies required to follow the innovations in the field of foreign language teaching, to develop original activities and to find solution(s) to possible problems.
Plans the language learning process taking into account the diverse characteristics and life experiences of learners and organizes the appropriate environments and carry out the process effectively.

General requirements

The original High School diploma and its translation approved by Turkish Embassies or Consulates.
An equivalency letter” obtained from the ministry of education of Turkey or from Turkish Embassies, showing that the diploma is equivalent to a Turkish High School Diploma.
Applicants who apply and admitted with SAT results need to direct their result from College Board until the registration; otherwise, they will be asked to confirm the results of the exam at the SAT College Board official website with their usernames and password during registration
International students are required to hold the official residence permit in Turkey.
A copy of the Passport, ID Card, Blue Card
For students with Dual Citizenship, a copy of the Official Identity Registration Document.
Four 4.5x6 cm size passport photos
