Overview
When needed, part-time instructors are also employed. The decisions related with the Department are taken by the Department Committee which is composed of all faculty members of the Department. The Department is governed by the chairperson and a deputy chairperson.
The Department of Foreign Language Education leading to an undergraduate degree started in the 2000-2001 academic year. Every year, 40 students are accepted to the programme. Although the medium of instruction at Başkent Universiry is Turkish, courses related to the field are offered in English. The English Language Teaching programme is offered at Baskent University.

- Students should pass the centrally administered entrance exam conducted by the Student Selection and Placement Center (OSYM). General admission requirements stated under Info on the Institution on this website are being applied to start this programme.
- Admissions to the programmes are made in accordance with the rules and regulations set down by The Higher Education Council of Turkey in compliance with the laws and statutes. Students apply to Başkent University on the dates announced in order to complete their enrolment to the programmes. Unless a written excuse is presented, enrolment procedures have to be carried out by the students themselves individually. The process is administered by the Student Registrar’s Office.
- The placement of students in the Programme is held through the National Student Election and Placement System which is operated by the Measurement, Selection, and Placement Centre.
