Overview
The main aim of the Sociology programme offered at Baskent University is to raise sociologists, who have sociological point of view, can make analysis of social structure, are leading experts, are experienced in qualitative and quantitative research subjects, are sensitive to social and cultural realities, have background in theory and methodology, make researches on Turkey's socio-economic situation and have full knowledge on international literature, for our country.

General requirements
- Admissions to the programmes are made in accordance with the rules and regulations set down by The Higher Education Council of Turkey in compliance with the laws and statutes. Students apply to Başkent University on the dates announced in order to complete their enrolment to the programmes. Unless a written excuse is presented, enrolment procedures have to be carried out by the students themselves individually. The process is administered by the Student Registrar’s Office.
- The placement of students in the Programme is held through the National Student Election and Placement System which is operated by the Measurement, Selection, and Placement Centre.
