About Industrial Engineering at De La Salle University

This serves to guide the student on the appropriate courses to take upon each enrolment, particularly if pre-requisite courses are required. The first part of the course covers basic microeconomic concepts such as opportunity cost, comparative advantage, supply and demand of consumer goods and consumer behavior. The second part of the course discusses producer output as an Industrial Engineering concern. Concepts like productivity and efficiency are introduced and applied to production costs and output planning for a firm. The last part introduces macroeconomics, including a model of the economy, and the standard Aggregate Demand-Aggregate Supply model. Topics on this last part include Fiscal policy, banking, and the role of the Central Bank and government in Economic planning.
