The School of Islamic Studies at Istanbul Sehir University, which received its first students in the 2012-2013 academic year, offers a multi directional and multi-optional program that extends from tafseer (exegesis of the Qur’an) to historical sociology of Muslim societies, from hadith (traditions of the Prophet) to modern Islamic thought. The school not only opens doors to the great heritage of Islamic civilization for its students, but also enables them to discover the philosophy and knowledge that are produced in the modern world. On top of offering the current curriculum of Schools of Theology in public universities of Turkey, School of Islamic Studies offers courses that aim to bring its students in contact with the history and classics of Islamic studies.

With its 3Languages-One School program The School of Islamic studies will use Arabic, Turkish and English, effectively as medium of communication and teaching of the courses; and students will be able to produce their academic works and engage with international academia in these three languages.

Students in the Islamic Studies Undergraduate Program at Istanbul Sehir University will have a college life of study within an internationally engaged academic curriculum, student activities, strong faculty members and visions aimed at excellence in Islamic studies. Besides having a degree in Islamic Studies, the students will have options to enroll in programs of minor degrees and/or double majors in a field of social sciences.
