Overview

You will gain theoretical knowledge in oil-gas sphere, ore geophysics and practical experience based on fundamental and specialized disciplines, as well as methods for solving standard geological and geophysical problems. Alongside, you will be guided in geophysical methods, also will be able to evaluate capabilities of each of them, get high-quality professional knowledge regarding phased and rational complexes of geological and geophysical research, knowledge on organization and conduct of field and borehole geophysical studies, processing, interpretation and modeling of the obtained data.

You will master the methods of solving direct and inverse problems in the search and exploration of mineral deposits; have an idea regarding classifications and types of target objects in the given fields; also, acquire skills in analyzing geological and geophysical data, their structuring, setting targets and methods for solving them when performing geophysical work in search and exploration of mineral deposits. Undergraduate students of Geophysics Department are taught skills for working with geophysical equipment and geophysical data; also, they learn how to put into practice methods of collecting, processing, analyzing and summarizing the stock, field and laboratory geological and geophysical information.

Graduates of the Oil-gas and ore geophysics program from Satbayev University receive the qualification Bachelor of Engineering and Technology and work in oil-gas and mining companies, as well as research institutes in engineering positions.
