Focusing on design studio, the multidisciplinary curriculum of the Architecture program at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology emphasizes building technology, construction, history, theory and culture through which students develop visual literacy, design and communication skills, construction knowledge to face environmental, social and aesthetic challenges of contemporary architecture and urban practices.

Key facts

Students delve deep, different facets of architecture through ten different design studios and other essential theory courses that prepare them to see and think like an architect. Cumulative learning is possible only through immersion into design studio culture.

For undergraduate studies, the number of entrants to the Department of Architecture is limited to 55 for each academic session. Students are selected through admission test only. B. Arch degree admission requirements are framed by the Academic Council and administered by the respective Admission Test Committee.

General requirements

An application for admission must be submitted by an applicant to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of his/her own country. The foreign ministry of the applicant’s country will send the application to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of Bangladesh to forward it to the Ministry of Education of the Govt. the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. The Ministry of Education will examine the student’s application for necessary Govt. approval and then forward it to the Registrar, BUET for processing the application.

The relevant documents of educational qualifications and 3 (three) recently taken passport size color photographs of the candidate should be included with the application form. After receiving the applications, the Admission Committees of BUET will select the eligible candidates for Admission in order of merit.
