Overview
The curriculum adheres to the guidelines set by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and includes essential courses recommended by the Pakistan Bar Council (PBC). The Law program of The University of Lahore offers a range of electives, allowing you to specialise in areas such as consumer protection laws, environmental laws, alternative dispute resolution, intellectual property laws, medical and forensic laws, labour laws, banking laws, and taxation laws. In addition to academic training, you are required to complete a compulsory two-month internship, which facilitates the acquisition of practical experience. During the course work, you will be encouraged to engage in simulated court proceedings at our moot courtrooms, where you will present legal cases in a simulated environment. Along with various other moot competitions at our college, this experience will help you hone your advocacy, research, and public speaking skills while applying legal principles to practical scenarios.
On-campus career services, a well-equipped law library, and recreational facilities will offer you a balanced and enriching educational experience, ensuring that you are not only prepared academically but also equipped with the skills needed to excel in the legal profession.
Career Prospects
Graduates of the LLB programme join the prestigious legal profession, stepping into roles as lawyers or members of the judiciary, with the potential to reshape the future of law in Pakistan. Career opportunities are vast, including positions such as compliance officer, corporate lawyer, crime analyst, criminal investigation officer, financial and legal consultant, and justice and security adviser. You will also have the option to establish your own consultancy firm. Moreover, graduates can pursue legal professions internationally or contribute to the growth of legal education and research.
You can pursue postgraduate studies in law, specialising in areas such as international law, human rights, business law, or environmental law, opening doors to even greater opportunities in academia, research, and specialised legal practice.
