It is in fact the practice of designing and implementing large, reliable, efficient and economical software by applying the principles and practices of engineering. The department aims to train students in all aspects of software life cycle from specification through analysis and design to testing, maintenance and evolution of software product.

Career Prospects

The Software Engineering program of The University of Lahore is designed to prepare our students for a career as Software Engineers; System Analysts, Requirements Engineers, Software Architects, Quality Analysts, and Project Managers. Software Engineers will help to develop software for telecommunications, financial systems, aeronautics, medical devices, transportation systems, banking and various government organizations.

General requirements

Minimum 50% marks in intermediate/12 years schooling/A-Level (HSSC) or equivalent with Mathematics are required for admission in BS (Software Engineering). An equivalency certificate by IBCC will be required in case of education from some other country or system of education.
The students who have not studied Mathematics at the intermediate level have to pass deficiency courses in Mathematics (06 credits) in the first two semesters.
Applicants have to clear the UOL entry test/NTS/HAT.
