It is one of the fastest growing branches of science of the century and is frequently referenced. All modern biotechnological products have been developed on the basis of knowledge generated by molecular biology and genetic engineering practices.

Students are offered inter-disciplinary observation, research and practice opportunities thanks to the “Acıbadem Healthcare Group” companies, which are leaders in the healthcare sector in Turkey, the school of medicine, the vocational school of higher education, hospitals as well as its developed clinical laboratories including genetic, molecular genetics, biochemistry, microbiology, and stem cell laboratories.

Thanks to the driving force of this science, the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics at Acibadem University is an important starting point for students who are to be trained to become scientists who invent and research, develop and apply.

Programme Structure

Qualified specialists in the field of Molecular Biology and Genetics in Turkey are limited in number. In a world which is global in its approach to science, the department is committed to training researchers who aim to be a part of inter-university information and collaboration.

With this aim, we support international student exchange programs and study opportunities and experiences overseas and encourage students to participate in national and international congresses.

Students are also encouraged to enroll in post-graduate programs at leading universities in the US and Europe which will assist in contributing to the training of scientists (researchers with a PhD) needed by Turkey.
