Overview

Esports is one of the fastest growing industries in the world. More and more private businesses, governments, and the public sector, both nationally and internationally, see the opportunities to utilise the potential that lies in skills developed through esports. The bachelor's programme in academic esports will provide knowledge that makes you competitive in the future labour market!

The bachelor’s programme introduces the world of academic esports and develops skills for a much broader field. This means that in addition to the activity of exercise, you learn about training,  recovery and performance.

You will also learn about the role of esports in society, technology related to esports, and how to use esports in education and in professional life.

The sixth semester is dedicated to writing a bachelor thesis. The students will then focus on one of the following four specialisations in the field:

• Esports athlete, coach or managing
• The industry and eco-system related to esports
• Technology and innovation

• Education and healthcare

The study programme will primarily have lessons conducted at campus Grimstad, but each class will have one day at campus Kristiansand. Campus Kristiansand also offers facilities for physical training for students.

Each semester features a 10ECTS module where students can participate in creating their own plan based on the subjects for each semester. It can also be replaced by internships in agreement with the programme coordinator.
