History (Hons) University of Malta

Overview

During the History (Hons) course from the University of Malta , apart from learning about local and national history through social, economic, warfare and other perspectives, we will also provide you with a wholistic historic lens of Western, European and Non-European countries. 

By learning history on an academic level, you will possess a deep appreciation and a heightened sense of awareness of contemporary international and local affairs through your firm grasp of historic patterns, events and foundations. 

In your final year, you may have the opportunity to carry out a dissertation, as you will be knowledgeable enough to conduct a research topic of your choice related to the subject matter. We also encourage you to participate in the Erasmus+ programme, as we believe that a multicultural and diversified learning experience will give you a better learning experience.

Career opportunities

• As a graduate of this programme of study you will be employable, both locally and internationally, as an archivist, heritage manager, museum curator or education officer, academic researcher, policy officer, information officer, human resources officer and as a broadcast journalist.
