The Department of Policy and Strategic Studies from Covenant University is currently poised to projecting what The Chancellor of the University, Dr. David O. Oyedepo often emphasizes as the restoration of the dignity of the black race. In addition to this, the Department is tacitly aligned and committed to the University’s Vision 10:2022 and ‘ReCiTe2’ (Research, Citation, Innovation and Teaching) agenda, both aimed at evolving Covenant University into a World-Class Research University and One of the Top 10 universities in the world by 2022.

The Department is the hub of policy thinking and research, as well as the academic mill and platform from which sound ideas, discourses and political constructs for nation-building emerge. These, coupled with the fact that we run Political Science, Policy and Strategic Studies and International Relations, which are some of the flagship programmes in the University, make us a leading unit, which contributes in dynamic ways to the realization of the medium and term long-goals of the University in “Raising a New Generation of Leaders” to achieve the University Vision of 10:2022.

The minimum entry requirements for admission into the Department of Political Science and International Relations are credit level passes in five (5) subjects at the WASSCE/GCE, Pearson’s A-Levels/or its equivalent, obtained in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Government or History and other two subjects from Social Science or Arts
The entry qualification documents are accepted in the following languages: English.
