Programme Overview

The philosophy of the Information and Communication Engineering programme in Covenant University is designed to produce a new generation of youths who have a sound knowledge of the fundamentals in electrical or computer engineering that allows them to analyse and solve technical problems, to apply hardware and software tools to problem solution, and to create and evaluate technical products. Information and Communication Engineering, as the backbone of a knowledge economy, is highly dynamic and versatile.

Therefore, the programme seeks to contribute effectively and sufficiently to the knowledge economy by putting in place the curricula that meet these challenges. The training is to produce graduates, who are producers rather than mere consumers of knowledge economy, by being, upon graduation, ready-made functional engineers in industries, research assistants, scholars in academia, or successful entrepreneurs in the Information and Communication Engineering sector. The training also creates the awareness and understanding of the moral, ethical, legal, and professional obligations needed to function as a computer engineer while protecting public health and welfare and the environment in a global society.

General requirements

Nigerian applicants must possess a valid Nigerian O-Level result (WAEC or NECO) or IGCSE result and must have sat for the current year’s JAMB examination.
Applicants with Foreign/International Certificates or Results must obtain an official evaluation of their grades before completing the admission screening.
Applicants resident in Nigeria requiring IGCSE evaluation must submit their documents to the Ministry of Tertiary Education, Lagos State.
Applicants residing outside Nigeria may obtain an evaluation through the Federal Ministry of Education’s online verification portal.
Applicants presenting foreign high school results are classified as International Applicants, regardless of nationality. Citizens of African countries (excluding Nigeria) or applicants with verifiable African descent may be classified as African Applicants.
All African and International Applicants must pay application and tuition fees in USD.
