Overview
Electrical Engineering from University of Twente (UT) is a small-scale programme with around 100 first year students. The distance between professors and students is small. This means you will receive plenty of personal guidance. Your input and ideas matters: together with student association Scintilla, we are constantly improving our education and we organise all sorts of study-related activities.
Quick Facts:
- In addition to in-depth professional expertise, you will develop a broad package of 21st-century skills and personal competences in this programme, including a work ethos centring on self-reflection and lifelong learning. Our informal, personal approach is aimed at helping you flourish both professionally and personally. You will become more entrepreneurial and learn to apply academic knowledge to the realities of our society. Our project-based education will challenge you to look beyond disciplinary and cultural barriers and to work together with others. On top of that, you will have an unforgettable student experience thanks to our magnificent, green campus and the vibrant student city of Enschede – a place of knowledge, innovation and fun!
- During the bachelor’s you will spend around 25% of every module on practical skills by participating in projects. A number of these, such as the electronics project in which you design and build a wireless audio amplifier, take place in our own practice room. Other projects, like the photodiode project, are carried out in both the MESA+ Nanolab and in the advanced measurement labs of our Electrical Engineering chair. Both the bachelor's and master's are connected with existing research projects carried out by researchers at UT, other universities or the research departments at companies or scientific institutes. This means there are always challenging studies to get involved in: the problems you tackle are relevant and your research contributes to the next step in your research area.
