Overview

The Blended course at Savitribai Phule Pune University aims to expose the student to the vast scope of basic sciences in the form of theoretical and experimental disciplines with applications. The objective is to emphasize the importance of basic science as the most essential disciplines for sustaining the existing industries and establishing new ones to create job opportunities at all levels of employment.

Students will learn:

to develop fundamental understanding of the concepts and applications of the basic sciences such as Astrophysics, Mathematical Physics, Immunology, Ecology, Environmental Biochemistry, Remote Sensing and Geohydrology, Medicinal Chemistry, Evolution of life, Quantum Physics, and their linkages with subjects like Chemistry, Mathematics, Life Sciences, Physics, Earth Science and Environmental Sciences.
to prepare students be able to plan and execute science-related experiments/investigations, analyse and interpret data/information collected using appropriate methods, including the use of appropriate software such as various programming languages and packages, and finally to be able to report systematically the findings of the research

Career prospects

The three year B.Sc. Blended program is internationally recognized and allows students direct admission for post-graduation programs with appropriate majors at the University of Melbourne and other universities in Australia.
Students are also well prepared to qualify for various entrance exams for Masters and Integrated PhD programs at reputed institutes like IISERs, IISC, TIFR, IUCAA and IITs.
Eligible for job opportunity in organizations like DRDO, ISRO, BARC,ONGC, NTPC and BHEL etc.

Students who have passed their Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC/Std. 12) examination from any statutory board with subjects Physics Chemistry Mathematics and /or Biology are eligible for the BSC Blended course.
The admission is given on the basis of marks obtained by the students in the Online Entrance Examination (OEE) for the course, generally conducted in June or July.
English proficiency: all foreign students from non-English speaking countries have to take the English Proficiency Test (EPT)
