About this Program

Classical Greek and Latin provide students with a basis to further their reading and writing skills in two of the oldest languages in the world. These two classical languages have traditionally held a central position in Western education, and they remain important for the study not only of the Greco-Roman world, but also of the languages, ideas and literatures (including English) of societies that grew out of the classical world.
