The Bachelor of Engineering Honours (Industrial) from La Trobe University is delivered by leading academics in our high-tech facilities where you'll develop advanced technical skills in computer-aided design, systems integration, robotics, and digital manufacturing.

In your final year, you can build your industry experience by completing a work placement in either Melbourne or Bendigo. You'll apply your engineering expertise with a real-world company, while enhancing your teamwork, stakeholder engagement, scoping and project management skills.

Every stage of our Bachelor of Engineering Honours (Industrial) equips you for your future career. You have the option to exit after your first year with a Diploma of Engineering Technology or after your second year with an Associate Degree in Engineering Technology. You can also expand your engineering knowledge and experience by continuing to our Master of Engineering programs.

Industrial engineers are needed in a range of industries to design, plan and optimise production and manufacturing processes.

Roles may include:

Quality engineer
- Oversee the manufacturing of products to ensure quality and standards are maintained from product development through to packaging.
Logistician
- Analyse and manage organisational supply chains to maintain and enhance the product lifecycle.
Control systems engineer
- Apply control theory to design and develop equipment and systems with desired behaviours in control environments.
Robotics engineer
- Construct the plans and processes needed to build robots and robotic systems.
