Key Facts
The second purpose of the Accounting Sciences in Financial Accounting signals University of South Africa (UNISA) is to provide South Africa, and other countries, with graduates in the fields of accounting and auditing. A further purpose of the qualification is to provide qualifiers with a base of further specialisation towards a professional career in accounting, auditing and/or related fields.
This qualification will be presented online. Candidates should note that during the course of their studies they would be required to have access to a computer with a webcam, and the internet Some of the pre-requisites and/ or co-requisites outlined in this qualification may not apply as they do not form part of the curriculum.

- A National Senior Certificate (NSC) (Degree endorsement) with at least 50% in the language of teaching and learning and with at least 50% in Mathematics or a 60% in Mathematical Literacy,
- a Senior Certificate (SC) with matriculation exemption (or qualify for the exemption from the Matriculation Board) and with at least a D symbol on HG or a C symbol on SG in the language of teaching and learning and with at least a D symbol on HG or a C symbol on SG in Mathematics,
- a Higher Certificate in Accounting Sciences
- an appropriate Higher Certificate in Economic and Management Sciences,
- an Advanced Certificate in Accounting Sciences,
- a Diploma in Accounting or Accounting Sciences.
