Program Outline

The aim of the Interior Architecture program at Cankaya University is to ensure transferring theoretical knowledge on various subjects in the classrooms. The necessary knowledge and skills required is also transferred by “workshops” that constitute the most vital part of the program. Critics help students to improve the creativity as a main factor of the design process. The curriculum is designed to enable graduates to be involved in an interdisciplinary environment. Due to summer practices required in the curriculum, the education at Çankaya University is different from educations at other universities. Therefore, compared to their colleagues, our graduates are more knowledgeable about construction techniques of buildings.

To teach students the relationship of “user-function-space” concepts, field trips, seminars and workshops are organized. Another aspect of this program is to enable students to have successful collaboration with related disciplines such as architecture, landscape architecture and engineering. The students of the Interior Architecture department can take two professional degrees during their undergraduate studies by completing either a double major program in the Architecture department or a minor-degree program in the City and Regional Planning or Architecture departments.
