Many of today’s most crucial tasks are made possible by good software. From large software systems to open source projects, they help us to manage information, connect communities and design innovative solutions.

In this course, you will master the core principles of effective software engineering, from programming to good practice, project management and cyber security.

You’ll begin with the fundamentals, building up your skills in Python and Java while learning about human computer interaction, algorithms and database systems. However, we also offer a wealth of optional modules, enabling you to generalise or specialise as you wish. These range from blockchain to video games development, eHealth, natural language processing, data mining, and entrepreneurship.

We reinforce everything you learn with hands-on projects, from lab work to projects devised by industry partners. You’ll build teamwork abilities through group projects, and get regular support from expert lecturers and peers.
