Overview
The curriculum structure for the first two years of Bachelor of Automotive Engineering (Hons) from Technical University of Malaysia Melaka is to enhance the students’ basic engineering and mathematics knowledge before engaging in more specialized courses in mechanical and automotive engineering.
These subjects include Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Materials, Engineering Graphics and CAD, Engineering Mechanics, Differential Equation, Computer Programming, Principles of Electric and Electronics, Principle of Measurements and Instrumentation, and Manufacturing Process. Practical work and workshops are designed to enhance students' knowledge and skills. In addition, students will also study subjects such as Third Language, and Co-Curriculums.
Year 2 students will be taking courses in mechanical and automotive engineering. These courses include Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Computer-Aided Design and Manufacturing, Automotive Technology, Mechanical Design, Microprocessor Technology, Solid Mechanics, and Vehicle Electrical & Electronics. In addition, the students will study Engineering Mathematics II. Students will also take the university compulsory courses including Ethnic Relations, Co-Curriculum II, and Technical English.
In Year 3, students will study Control Engineering, Heat Transfer, Vehicle Dynamics, Mechanical Vibration, Vehicle System Modeling & Simulation, Internal Combustion Engine, and Engineering Statistics. In addition, students are required to conduct projects in Integrated Design Project I and Integrated Design Project II. Besides that, the students will undertake English for Professional Communication. Students are then required to undergo industrial training for at least 10 weeks, during the short semester (after semester 6) in selected industries.
The objectives are to strengthen the engineering knowledge and theory as well as their hands-on skills.
Fourth-year students (final year), who are in their 7th and 8th semester, shall carry out Final Year Project (FYP), programme core and elective courses which are focused on advanced knowledge of Automotive Engineering.

Programme Educational Objectives (PEO) are specific goals consistent with the mission and vision of the University, that are responsive to the expressed interest of programme stakeholders, describing the expected achievements of graduates in their career and professional life, few years after graduation.
- PEO1 Graduates who are competent and adaptable in multi industries by practicing the knowledge in mechanical-automotive engineering that is in accordance relevant to the professional engineering practice.
- PEO2 Graduates who will further study at postgraduate level or other professional courses.
- PEO3 Graduates who will be leader at note-worthy level and provide solutions that benefited the respective organization, society and nation.

Local Students
- Applicants should submit his/her application through an online application system administered by the Bahagian Pengurusan Kemasukan Pelajar (BPKP), Jabatan Pengajian Tinggi, Kementerian Pengajian Tinggi Malaysia.
- The important dates and the procedures for the online submission will be announced by BPKP through their website / printed media/electronic media every year (usually in November) for the next academic session’s intake.
International Students
- Applicants can submit applications directly to UTeM by using this application form.
- Applicants may submit an application to the University of Technical Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) at any time throughout the year. However, applications received by UTeM ON or BEFORE June 30 will be accepted for admission in the current academic session and applications received after the date specified will be accepted for inclusion in the next academic year.
