The need exists for the training of specialists in the field of engineering surveying to provide for the academic requirements as set out by the South African Geomatics Council so that candidates can register as Engineering Surveying Technologists and to produce qualified entrepreneurs in the surveying field who can contribute positively to the development of the South African economy. The duration of this Geomatics program from Durban University of Technology is 3 years full-time study.

A conditional certificate of exemption from the Matriculation Board (when in possession of the Senior Certificate (SC)
