Objectives

The objectives of the Physics program of the University of Peshawar are:

To educate the students to fulfill the requirements of scientific organizations in the public and private sectors of the country.

To promote collaboration and inter disciplinary relationships with the teaching and research organizations in the country and abroad.

To arrange courses, seminars, workshops and conferences for the promotion of teaching and research.

To establish links with the local industries for the enhancement of the quantity and for the improvement of quality of the products. To train the students to make an assessment of the claims of the vendors of their high technological equipment available in the market.

Outcomes

The Department of Physics has produced a number of postgraduates who work in educational institutes and scientific organizations in the country and abroad. The Department of Physics offers Specialization Programs in Nuclear Physics, Solid State Physics, Electronics and Signal Processing at Master level. The department arranges lectures, seminars and study tours for students to inform them of contemporary developments in the field of Physics, Electronics and related subjects. The library of the department has 10000 books in the subject of Physics, Electronics and related areas. The library is fully air conditioned and well furnished. Research at the Department The Department of Physics is having two research laboratories, The Centralized Resource Laboratory (CRL) and Materials Research Laboratory (MRL) equipped with state of the art and modern research facilities.

Admission Processing Fee is not refundable.

No printed Prospectus or Admission Application Form will be issued. The candidates are required to apply online as per the procedure mentioned above

Form once filled online and submitted after that no change whatsoever will be made. Moreover, preference, as given on the form, will not be changed.

Candidates on the Final Merit List must appear for submission of fee and their documents on the given dates and should produce all the original documents along with three passport-size photographs. If the candidate fails to do so, he/she will lose his / her chance of admission

The University reserves the right to withdraw any programme OR to modify the rules governing the programmes OR to make necessary amendments in the programmes OR courses of studies where deemed necessary. If the number of students admitted in a programme is less than 15, the admission in the said programme will be considered as cancelled.
