Mission
The mission of the Psychology program of the University of Peshawar is to provide academically sound courses that promote knowledge of psychological concepts, issues, methods, theories, applications, services, and critical thinking. To commit to excellent teaching, nationally and internationally recognized research, and providing outstanding professional services to ensure the mental health, positive growth and safety, and security of our people.
Aims and Objectives
- To ensure that the students are aware of the nature, origin, history and scope of Psychology as a modern discipline and its relationship with other sciences.
- To be aware of the different perspectives – functional systems and theories – used in psychology in order to study, understand and explain its subject matter.
- To be aware of the experimental and experimental underpinning of the study of psychology and develop a scientific approach to the subject.
- To be conversant with the biological, biochemical and genetic basis of behavior.
- To be fully knowledgeable about the cognitive, behavioral and personality functioning of the individual: developmentally, interpersonally and socially.
- To be familiar with the methods it employs for studying (as it is) and changing behavior (as it should be) and the strengths and weaknesses of these methods.
- To be aware of the moral and ethical implications of psychological theories, procedures and practices.
- To have a working knowledge of the application and the practice of psychology in real life and have all the necessary skills to continue a specialist study later on and achieve professional qualifications.
- To be able to conceive, design, and conduct small scale research project and analyze the information and share it with other colleagues.
- To ensure that psychology is taught as an applied discipline in scientist-reflective.
- To be conversant with the biological, biochemical, psycho social and genetic basis of behavior.
- Every student must participate in seminar and annual research papers in each course on current respective area of psychology.
- The student should develop inside and personality growth through internship.
- Individually students need to inculcate the sprit of applying control over unbridled instinctive and impulsive actions, so that they acquire inside and behave on their rational judgment.

General requirements
- Admission Processing Fee is not refundable.
- No printed Prospectus or Admission Application Form will be issued. The candidates are required to apply online as per the procedure mentioned above
- Form once filled online and submitted after that no change whatsoever will be made. Moreover, preference, as given on the form, will not be changed.
- Candidates on the Final Merit List must appear for submission of fee and their documents on the given dates and should produce all the original documents along with three passport-size photographs. If the candidate fails to do so, he/she will lose his / her chance of admission
- The University reserves the right to withdraw any programme OR to modify the rules governing the programmes OR to make necessary amendments in the programmes OR courses of studies where deemed necessary. If the number of students admitted in a programme is less than 15, the admission in the said programme will be considered as cancelled.
