About the Course

The main emphasis in the Microbiology programme of the University of Peshawar is given on studying their genetics, biochemistry, structures, and reproduction in the first two years. In the third and final years, courses in immunology, microbial diversity, metabolic regulation, gene expression and applied areas such as biotechnology, food, and medical microbiology are taught. The students are admitted after passing Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) in Pre-medical

Microbiologists can opt for a career in research, health professions, teaching, pharmaceutical, environmental, food, and industrial sectors .They can also work as medical illustrator, water quality inspector, ecologist, laboratory immunologist, waste disposal engineer, , food and drug inspector, mycologist, animal nutritionist etc. Students can work in fields of medicine, dentistry and other health professions as well as careers in research, production, regulatory affairs and scientific sales. Research and other work experience opportunities are available in the institute and surrounding private and government laboratories.

Admission Processing Fee is not refundable.

No printed Prospectus or Admission Application Form will be issued. The candidates are required to apply online as per the procedure mentioned above
Form once filled online and submitted after that no change whatsoever will be made. Moreover, preference, as given on the form, will not be changed.
Candidates on the Final Merit List must appear for submission of fee and their documents on the given dates and should produce all the original documents along with three passport-size photographs. If the candidate fails to do so, he/she will lose his / her chance of admission
The University reserves the right to withdraw any programme OR to modify the rules governing the programmes OR to make necessary amendments in the programmes OR courses of studies where deemed necessary. If the number of students admitted in a programme is less than 15, the admission in the said programme will be considered as cancelled.
