Overview

The Architecture department at National Institute of Technology, Rourkela is providing multidisciplinary research and teaching programmes in the field of architecture and planning.

The faculty members have diverse research interests and they conduct basic and applied research in the area of Sustainable Architecture, Energy Efficient Architecture, Green Architecture, Acoustics, Illumination, Landscape Architecture, Interior Design, Urban Planning, Transportation Planning, Infrastructure Planning, Environmental Planning and Housing.

Mission

To produce Architects with creativity and vision, with special expertise on modern facilities and services including acoustics, illumination, ventilation, air conditioning, energy conservation, water conservation in addition to improved functionality, safety, comfort along with aesthetics.

To create planners for the 21st century India with special focus on planning for change from a developing economy to a developed one.

To carry out research in all aspects of planning and architecture that have reference to modern living with emphasis on functionals, safety, comfort, conservation and aesthetics.
