Overview

The Electronics and Communication Engineering department at National Institute of Technology, Rourkela has laboratories catering to all the subjects of studies.

Faculty members of the department are working in different specializations under the groups: Communication engineering, VLSI and embedded systems, Signal Processing and Instrumentation. Many research projects are being pursued by faculty members with funding from organizations like ISRO, DST, DRDO and BRFST.

Objectives

To provide necessary background in basic engineering for pursuing studies in Electronics and Communication Engineering

To impart knowledge on Electronics system design so that students can able to design and understand electronics circuits and be part of ever growing electronics industry

To acquire the thorough basic knowledge on general Telecommunication and wireless communication systems used in various fields of communication industries, military, satellite, mobile communication and data communication industries

To provide the knowledge on Digital signal processor design, embedded system and VLSI design for communication, Image processing, speech processes and video processing
