Overview
About the program
At present the school accepts around 85 students a year to start a four year course in nursing. Classes of the Nursing program of the Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine are given at the Hirokoji Campus located between the University Hospital and imperial palace. The mission of the school is to educate nurses and health workers, with respect for human dignity and a high level of specialized knowledge and skills.
To study and gain nursing practice students have basic practical training from the 1st year at the university hospital. Full-fledged practical training takes place during the 3rd and 4th year when students go to hospitals, home nurse stations, and health care centers.
