About Sociology at Jamia Millia Islamia
The curriculum includes interdisciplinary and interfaculty courses (core and elective subjects) in unit form. These are periodically upgraded and enriched through presentations and rigorous discussion by the entire faculty and by BOS.
Key Features
- The Sociology curriculum at Jamia Millia Islamia includes courses for ‘student centric’ learning: two at MA level (Dissertation-I and Dissertation-II), and two at the B.A Honors level (Research Project I and Research Project II). Students work under the guidance of a faculty member and contact a variety of external institutions wherever necessary.
- Extension lecture series are organized for students and faculty. Interuniversity students’ seminars are organized annually by the Departments Students Subject Association.

- Self-attested copy of the Letter from the employer of the parent abroad (not older than 6 month at the time of admission)
- Self-attested Copy of the NRI Status Certificate issued by the Indian Embassy in the concerned country
- AffidavitonRs.10 stamp paper from the parent for financial support (can be submitted at the time of final admission)
- The candidate has to submit “Anti Ragging Affidavit” from Class 1 Gazetted Officer/Notary
