About Sociology at Jamia Millia Islamia

The curriculum includes interdisciplinary and interfaculty courses (core and elective subjects) in unit form. These are periodically upgraded and enriched through presentations and rigorous discussion by the entire faculty and by BOS.

Key Features

The Sociology curriculum at Jamia Millia Islamia includes courses for ‘student centric’ learning: two at MA level (Dissertation-I and Dissertation-II), and two at the B.A Honors level (Research Project I and Research Project II). Students work under the guidance of a faculty member and contact a variety of external institutions wherever necessary.

Extension lecture series are organized for students and faculty. Interuniversity students’ seminars are organized annually by the Departments Students Subject Association.
