The revision is done keeping in mind the changing impetus and industrial requirements vis-á-vis the entry of MNC’s in the field of Mineral exploration and Petroleum Exploration and hydro-power construction industries.

Emphasis is also been placed for applied aspects of coal geology for industrial requirements like coalification and gasification, coal- bed methane and future gas hydrate potentialities in Indian off-shore.
