Programme Structure

The Department of Applied Geology is known at national and international level for its academic commitments, updating of syllabi of various academic programmes through induction of the state-of-the art topics to produce students who have created a name for themselves vis-á-vis this department both in India and abroad.

The revision is done keeping in mind the changing impetus and industrial requirements vis-á-vis the entry of MNC’s in the field of Mineral exploration and Petroleum Exploration and hydro-power construction industries.

Emphasis is also been placed for applied aspects of coal geology for industrial requirements like coalification and gasification, coal- bed methane and future gas hydrate potentialities in Indian off-shore.
