A potential student must be in possession of a Bachelor of Accounting Science degree or a BCom (Accounting) (UJ Code: BCA012) degree accredited by the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA) (New NQF Level 7/ Old NQF Level 6).

Potential students must have passed all four modules (Accounting, Auditing, Financial Management and Taxation) on NQF 7 in their final year of their degree in the same year. Final selection requirements, based on academic performance, will from time to time be set by the department.
