The purpose of the Bachelor of Science in Life and Environmental Sciences from University of Johannesburg is to develop qualified scientists who can identify, evaluate and solve problems associated with life, earth and environmental sciences and be able to assume and demonstrate initiative and responsibility in related academic and professional contexts in South Africa as well as in the international world.

An average final mark of 65% in Chemistry 1C2E and 1C3E offers entrance to Chemistry 1B which is a pre-requisite for Chemistry 2 and Biochemistry 2. **
