Overview
The International Graphic Design (Top Up) (Hons) programme at Manchester Metropolitan University will expand your critical and conceptual thinking and encourage an understanding of wider global and creative professional design practice, whilst enabling you to develop an individual positioning for your professional design practice.
Collaboration is at the heart of the course - you will undertake design practice modules with current final year students, work on projects with external industry and academic research partners, and exhibit your final projects as part of our annual Degree Shows events.

Graduates have gone on to be designers in design consultancies and in-house teams for industry and public authorities; magazine and publication designers; art directors and creative teams in advertising agencies; digital media designers and filmmakers for creative online content.

Other requirements
General requirements
- For entry to the Top Up year, we require the submission of a portfolio of creative work and 240 credits earned through recent (up to 2 years) completion of a Foundation Degree, Advanced Diploma, HND (merit or above), the first two years of a Degree or equivalent.
- In cases where applicants are returning from industry and do not meet the standard admissions criteria, an assessment of their recent relevant professional experience will be made to establish their suitability for entry to the course. This will be undertaken on a case by case basis and supported by the Admissions Tutor.
- An online interview with portfolio is normally requested as part of the application process.
