If you find yourself thinking about life's big questions, this European Philosophy with French (Hons) from University of Dundee could be for you.
This specialises in continental (European) philosophy and teach key texts from the European tradition. For this course, as well as your French modules, we also encourage you to study European-based modules from other subjects such as history, international relations, politics, or geography.
This course will help you look at how philosophy is important to real-world concerns and contemporary issues by:
- exploring films and artwork
- discussing important scientific and technological developments
- debating controversial ethical issues
- looking at how texts written three hundred years ago can be relevant to political situations today

Modules include:
- In Levels 3 and 4 you may have one lecture and more small working groups or seminars per week.
- You will also engage in independent reading and research, with specially designed worksheets and assignments to help you to do this most effectively.
- In Levels 3 and 4 two hours of language tutorial each week, plus 10 hours of lectures/seminars on French film, culture and society across each year.
- You must attend regular film screenings.
