Overview

EMS covers four first-level disciplines: Theoretical Economics, Applied Economics, Management Science & Engineering, and Business Administration. EMS is the only few schools in China that have been authorized to offer degree programs in all first-level disciplines in economics and management. Two disciplines, Theoretical Economics and Finance, are granted premier National Key Subject.

The Theoretical Economics was selected as the first batch of national top discipline building project. EMS has 8 key research bases at provincial or ministerial level, and 38 research institutions at university level.

With efforts from the stakeholders of the School, as faculty members, students, and alumni, the vision of the Public Finance program at Wuhan University is “to become a leading business school in China with world-class standing”.

General requirements

Applicants for English-taught programs shall hold a TOEFL 80+, TOEFL Essential 8+ or IELTS 6.0+ certificate. Applicants whose mother tongue is English or who have previous degrees taught through the medium of English can be exempted from TOEFL, TOEFL Essential and IELTS if approved by Wuhan University.

Applicants shall be non-Chinese citizens and meet the requirements stipulated in the JWH [2020] No. 12 Document issued by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. Applicants shall be physically and mentally healthy and willing to abide by the laws and regulations of China and the regulations of Wuhan University.
Applicants shall be between 18 and 25 years of age as of Sep. 1, 2024. Applicants under the age of 18 shall submit a guarantee letter from their guardians in China when applying.
