Overview

In order to achieve the above-mentioned objectives, a com prehensive revised syllabus comprising of topics relating to economics, quantitative techniques and business have been included in the three-year, sixsemester module, giving w ider coverage to the course contents, better organisation to enable easier assimilation of the same by the students, and a m ore professional touch to the course. The papers have been redesigned to include more recent changes and developm ents in the concerned subjects. 

Learning outcomes

The Business Economics papers at University of Delhi in com puter fundam entals and applications have been redesigned to introduce the student to packages required for statistical analysis and to enable the student to implement the techniques through computers, thus supplem enting the quantitative papers. The core economics papers have been rationalized in their structure and sequencing wherein a broad idea of microeconomic and macroeconomic concepts and theories is introduced in the first and second semesters. The same is followed by a more detailed and in-depth knowledge of the subject in the third and fourth semesters. There has been a substantial incroase in the quantitative techniques com ponent of the course to equip stu d ents v/ith the essential tools for business and economic analysis. In this regard Econometrics and Operations Research have been introduced as essential papers. The course continues to expose students to the areas of finance, marketing and the legal structure within which businesses operate. Thus a fine balance has been maintained between the economic theory and practical business com ponents.
