Structure

The (Hons) Scheme in Hotel and Tourism Management Bachelor at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University has three specialisms: Hotel Management, Smart Tourism and Hospitality, and Event and Experience Management. It combines theory and practice in the hotel, tourism, events and experience, and broader service industries with a customer service orientation to produce graduates who are equipped for a variety of industry positions. Graduates can progress rapidly to management-level positions within these industries, either locally or internationally. Students learn to be customer-focused, analytical, and independent and develop communication and leadership skills. They also gain a global perspective to meet the growing challenges faced by the dynamic hotel, tourism, and events and experience industries.

4 Core subjects and 2 Elective subjects with:

Level 3: English Language, Chinese Language and 2 Elective subjects

Level 2: Mathematics and Liberal Studies

Admission Score Calculation

The "best" 5 HKDSE subjects (after subject weightings have been applied) will be taken into account.

For those applying on the basis of other local qualifications:

An appropriate Associate Degree / Higher Diploma from a recognised institution (suitable candidates will be considered for advanced standing entry to the senior year curriculum).

Other local/non-local qualifications deemed to be acceptable for admission purpose

The University accepts attainments in HKALE / HKASLE, GCEALE / GCEASLE and IB for admission to its 4-year degree programmes. Applicants holding A-Level and IB qualifications will be granted credit transfer upon admission.
