Overview
Economics and Media Analytics (Hons) at Nanyang Technological University at Nanyang Technological University prepares you for public and private sector careers in which they set the future direction for new media. Other NTU programmes are better suited for students who wish to learn other skills at the intersection of economics and communication, such as business or economics reporting. However, this curriculum is best suited for strategising for twenty-first media.
Graduates will gain the ability to analyse and condense complex data into an easily understandable format targeted at different audiences. They will also develop an informed and critical understanding of the economy, media and mass communication.
Career
Career options include Business Analytics Specialist, Social Media Analyst, Market researcher and decision analyst, another possible career option is Behavioural Economist. Behavioural economists use human behaviour data in designing economic policy. They improve economic understanding using studies on the psychology of decision making. Many may work as market research analysts, since they need to review the behavioural patterns of consumers and other businesses in order to make sound economic theories to explain various patterns.
