Overview

The Physiotherapy (Hons)  programme from University of Malta  gives the student the opportunity to develop personally, intellectually and professionally.

The first three years of the four year programme are mainly academic and practical, while the final year is dedicated solely to supervised clinical practice and research.

During the first semester of the final year, students are encouraged to obtain clinical practice overseas utilising one of the several Erasmus agreements that the Department of Physiotherapy has with major universities throughout Europe.

On completion of the course the graduate from the programme will be an accountable and competent professional who will meet the standards for registration with the Council for the Professions Complimentary to Medicine in Malta; and shall have the skills to address health both in well-being and disability by means of prevention, diagnosis and treatment to influence the physical function and performance of the body.

Career opportunities and access to further studies

On successful completion of the course, candidates are eligible to apply for registration with the Council for the Professions Complementary to Medicine both locally and in Europe especially the United Kingdom.
