Overview
Education
The programme is conducted entirely in English and the curriculum has been designed in such a way that students spend app. 50 % of their studies at the University of South Bohemia and 50 % of their studies at JKU Linz. The programme provides concentrated and in-depth instruction in areas of biological chemistry, chemistry, and biology.
It is unique in its emphasis on multidisciplinarity, comprehensive thinking, international teamwork, and communication skills. The cross-border bachelor's study programme Biological Chemistry benefits from high-quality chemistry programmes and research at the Faculty of Technology and Science JKU in Linz and biology/biochemistry programmes and research at the Faculty of Science USB.
The advantage of the study is not only in receiving excellent knowledge of the English language, but also broad knowledge in chemistry, biology, and related fields. Students of the double-degree bachelor's study programme Biological Chemistry work on two separate bachelor theses and thus receive two BSc degrees and diplomas, one from the University of South Bohemia and the other from the Johannes Kepler University.
