The three-year course in Product Design at Raffles Milano provides students with the research tools, methodologies and processes they will need to be able to govern the complexity of designing.

Design can be defined as the personification of methods and technologies. It provides new solutions by educating people to generate value for the world that surrounds us. Design has always been a powerful engine of social, aesthetic and thinking progress.

Professional Opportunities

Product Design Graduates will possess the skills to successfully join design world, apply for companies of different sectors or work as freelancers. Young designers will be able to start a career as: product designer, concept designer, service designer, social designer, design manager, etc. Raffles Milano training system will also provide the right tools to work both locally and internationally.

Accreditation

Upon successful completion of the accredited programme, students are awarded a First Level Academic Diploma pursuant to Ministerial Decree No. 1216 of 31 August 2023, a qualification officially recognized by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MUR) within the AFAM system.

Programme Structure

All Product Design bachelor students begin with a foundation in design culture, methodology, materials, technologies, representation and digital tools. They can choose between two pathways: Product Design or Product Design + Interior Design.

The first year develops core design skills through practical projects and workshops, helping students turn ideas into functional and meaningful solutions.

The second year focuses on Product Design, exploring products, services and systems, with attention to innovation, sustainability, materials, prototyping, manufacturing and emerging technologies. Research, digital tools and AI support a critical and responsible approach to design.

In the third year, students develop their individual design identity through advanced projects, workshops and industry collaborations. They refine their creative and technical skills build a professional portfolio and prepare for opportunities in the evolving Product Design industry.

Audience

The course is aimed at candidates with a high school diploma and students from Italian or foreign universities who are eager to transform their creative talents into thinking skills, ideation, development and communication of projects, products and services.

Lecturers

Carlo Forcolini: Designer and entrepreneur, graduated from the Brera Academy of Fine Arts. He has designed for leading brands including Alias, Artemide, Cassina, De Padova and Luceplan. Former National President of ADI and IED executive, he was named Ambassador of Italian Design and received the Compasso d’Oro for Lifetime Achievement in 2020.
