Overview
The three-year course in Interior Design at Raffles Milano will focus on the study and coherent application of decoration, the use of materials, lighting technologies and interior accessories.
Designing means transforming the world. It is not only a discipline that helps enhancing daily life: it also means understanding that each project is connected to its realisation by invisible threads. It’s the art of responsibility and commitment.
Professional Opportunities
Interior designers are capable to address the design of different and complex spaces and to translate clients demands into concrete solutions. They are fundamental figures for architecture and design firms, event agencies and television studios, construction sites and furniture companies. Thanks to their education, they can also address the career of critic and scholar of interior design as well as consultant and artistic director for fashion and design companies.
Accreditation
Upon completing the three-year Interior Design programme, students receive a Raffles Certificate documenting credits and learning outcomes. It is not an academic qualification recognised by MUR. Students may also obtain a Raffles e-Certificate from Raffles University, subject to procedures and an additional fee. Students interested in AFAM-accredited programmes can contact an Academic Advisor.
Programme Structure
All students begin with a shared foundation in design culture, methodology, representation, materials, technologies and digital tools, developing essential skills for contemporary design.
Students can choose between two pathways: Product Design or Product Design + Interior Design.
During the first year, students build core design skills through practical projects and workshops, exploring creativity, functionality and user experience.
In the second year, students develop their knowledge of Interior Design, working with spatial design, lighting, materials, furniture and user needs across residential, workplace, retail and hospitality environments.
The third year focuses on advanced projects and developing a personal design approach. Through workshops, lectures and industry collaborations, students refine their skills, build a professional portfolio and prepare for careers in Product and Interior Design.
Audience
The course is aimed at high school graduates and students coming from Italian or foreign universities, with a specific interest in design, materials, lighting technology and furnishing accessories.
