Overview

The result is a flexible and modern course, closer to the current training needs in the biological/biotechnology field and more responsive to the demands of the world of work. The course is divided into a first year with basic teachings, followed by a second year in which the study plan is diversified between the Biology curriculum (L13) and the Biotechnology curriculum (L2). Both curricula conclude with an internship at a research laboratory, an institution or a company, as an opportunity for initial contact with the working reality. Lessons are held in person and practical activities are planned at the university’s teaching laboratories.

All teaching activities at Biosciences and Biotechnology programme from the University of Camerino are delivered in English and a B2 level is expected to be achieved within the first year. At the same time, the student can enroll in the School of Advanced Studies “Carlo Urbani”, an institution of excellence, after a selection based exclusively on merit.

Professions

Graduates will be able to carry out work activities, with technical and professional roles: in public and private analysis agencies and laboratories; in Regional Agencies (ARPA) and National Agencies (APAT); in national institutions that operate in the territory (CNR, ENEA, etc.); in industries that operate with biological methodologies and biotechnologies in the environmental, health, pharmaceutical fields; in the field of research, training and dissemination of scientific culture.

After graduation

The graduate in Biosciences and Biotechnology is adequately qualified for access to the Master’s Degree courses in both the biological and biotechnological sectors. The Degree allows admission to the state exam for the qualification to the profession of Junior Biologist and Agricultural Biotechnologist.
