Programme Structure

In your first year you will study physical geography, human geography, geographies of development and geographical techniques, as well as research and field methods.

The first year develops your pre-university knowledge and looks at both human and physical processes. The second and third years allow you to choose from a wide range of options, giving students the chance to focus on sub-disciplines or themes within geography.

This can be entirely human geography, or you could choose to take subjects which link human to physical geography topics, such as landscape modification, environmental management or human:environment interactions. In these years you may also develop your studies more widely through taking courses in other Departments.
