Educational psychology draws on a wide range of psychological theories and real-world experiences to build an understanding of how children develop and learn. It takes into account the social and cultural contexts of children’s lives and schooling, as well as their individual growth and development.

As a Educational Psychology (Hons) graduate at Manchester Metropolitan University, there are a diverse range of career paths you could take. You might decide to complete further education and training to pursue a career as an educational psychologist. Alternatively, you could use your transferrable skills in a range of applied psychology areas or in various sectors such as sport, public services, policing, mental health, human resources and human performance. Some of the places you might work in are special education needs services, schools, local authorities, social services, prisons, charities, sports clubs, NHS or private hospitals, or rehabilitation centres. If you’re interested in teaching, you could pursue the PGCE Primary or PGCE Secondary Psychology courses.

128 UCAS tariff points.

GCE A levels - grades ABB or equivalent, to include at least one relevant subject. Relevant subjects exclude: Art, Design or Performance subjects; Media Studies; General Studies.
Pearson BTEC National Extended Diploma - grade DDM.
Access to HE Diploma - Pass overall with a minimum 128 UCAS Tariff points. Acceptable subjects are Psychology, Social Sciences, Biology/Human Sciences and Health Professions.
OCR Cambridge Technical Extended Diploma - grade DDM. Acceptable subjects include: Business; Health and Social Care; Public Services.
T level - We welcome applications from students undertaking T level qualifications in Education and Childcare; Health; Healthcare Science; Science. Eligible applicants will be asked to achieve a minimum overall grade of Distinction as a condition of offer
IB Diploma - Pass overall with a minimum overall score of 32 or minimum 128 UCAS Tariff points from three Higher Level subjects
